Hanseo University (President Ham Ki-seon) held the “Glocal University Vision Declaration Ceremony” on December 3 at the Aviation Technology Training Center on its Taean Campus, announcing its future vision to lead the global aviation industry beyond the regional level. The event was organized to commemorate the university’s final selection for the Ministry of Education’s “2025 Glocal University Project.”

The “Glocal University Project” is a key government initiative aimed at fostering globally competitive universities capable of driving joint growth between regions and higher education institutions. Its core objective is to establish a virtuous cycle ecosystem linking industry, academia, research, and local communities, where locally trained talent leads regional industrial development. After two consecutive years of attempts, Hanseo University was officially selected in 2025, firmly positioning itself as a leading institution for aviation and mobility industry innovation in Chungcheongnam-do.

On this day, approximately 400 participants attended the ceremony, including university members such as Honorary Chairperson Han Seung-hye and President Ham Ki-seon. Distinguished domestic guests included Chungcheongnam-do Administrative Vice Governor Park Jeong-ju, Superintendent of Chungnam Office of Education Kim Ji-cheol, Seosan Mayor Lee Wan-seop, and Taean County Governor Ga Se-ro. International guests included President Kolikov of Samarkand State Foreign Language Institute (Uzbekistan), Vice President Li Zao of Anhui Jianzhu University (China), and Vice President Agus Setiawan of Universitas Indonesia.

Through congratulatory and encouraging remarks, attendees celebrated the university’s final selection as a Glocal University and expressed their commitment to actively support and collaborate in helping Hanseo University grow into a national hub for future aviation industries.

President Ham Ki-seon stated,

“Based on Hanseo University’s unique aviation infrastructure and educational capabilities, we will establish an open innovation ecosystem linked to regional development strategies. We aim to become a central driving force for industrial transformation in Chungnam and for global advancement.”

Through the vision declaration ceremony, Hanseo University announced its plans to lead regional innovation through key initiatives, including:

Establishing a specialized K-Aviation research center as a global hub

Innovating the academic structure by removing boundaries between years and disciplines

Creating a market-leading K-Aviation Global Innovation Park

The university also aims to contribute to building “a city where young people choose to stay,” in collaboration with industry and local governments. Furthermore, Hanseo University is promoting the establishment of specialized education centers and global joint research institutes to realize its vision of becoming a “comprehensive global aviation university.”
