Hanseo University (President Ham Ki-seon), which won a total of four Innovation Awards at CES 2026—the world’s largest IT and home appliance exhibition—held on November 6 last year, operated 13 independent booths during the CES 2026 exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, from January 6 to 9.

From 2020 to 2026, Hanseo University achieved a remarkable milestone by winning a total of 28 Innovation Awards over seven consecutive years, becoming the first and most awarded university in Korea in this category. The CES Innovation Awards are globally prestigious honors presented by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), recognizing excellence in user value, technology, design, and innovation.

The four award-winning entries at CES 2026 were:

• IRDIVIBER (SYMBALS: Industrial Design majors Park Gyutae, Hong Junseok, Son Jaegyeong)

• NaviCane (MightyIrony: Industrial Design major Gu Jaheon)

• aio Food Waste Composter (INTROPACK: Professor Jung Jihae)

• AiVATAR (AI Park Inc.)

Among these, two were products from student-founded startups in the Department of Industrial Design, and one was developed by a faculty startup. These achievements are evaluated as the result of strong industry-academia collaboration that has elevated regional innovation capabilities to a global level. They also demonstrate the effectiveness of the university’s RISE project group and its One-Stop corporate support platform in delivering tangible outcomes.

At the CES 2026 exhibition, the award-winning teams participated in on-site marketing, global business consultations, and international networking, laying a practical foundation for entering overseas markets. Various linked programs were also conducted, including exchanges with international investors and promotion of startup companies.

Through CES 2026, Hanseo University reaffirmed its technological competitiveness and global standing, presenting its vision as a “glocal” university and showcasing a region-based global innovation model on the international stage.

Meanwhile, on January 7, Hanseo University hosted the “2026 Global Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Forum” at Horseshoe Las Vegas Provence1. The forum was organized to build a global cooperation ecosystem based on Chungcheongnam-do’s RISE project and the university’s glocal innovation model, aiming to create internationally successful cases.

In particular, the forum focused on exploring advanced global technology trends and collaborative policy directions related to the K-Aviation convergence industry, a regionally specialized sector and a key focus area of the university.

The forum was conducted in three sessions, beginning with a welcome address by President Ham Ki-seon. With the participation of students, industry representatives, and public officials from Korea and abroad, the program included:

• The impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on modern society in the Fourth Industrial Revolution

• Case presentations by CES Innovation Award-winning companies

• Special lectures by local startups and next-generation technology experts

The event attracted significant interest from participants. In addition, next-generation technology experts engaged in in-depth discussions on fostering global talent and linking this to regional industrial development.

President Ham Ki-seon stated,“Hanseo University, through its selection as a glocal university, has taken its first steps toward nurturing innovative talent in K-aviation convergence and future air mobility industries, as well as building a sustainable ecosystem. The CES 2026 Innovation Awards, exhibition, and this global cooperation forum are meaningful opportunities to demonstrate our specialization strategy and globalization efforts on the world stage. We will continue to expand an integrated model that connects regional innovation with global advancement, striving to grow into a world-class university that develops together with its region.”
