Introduction

The Department of Leisure and Marine Sports develops professionals for the leisure and marine sports industries. These individuals may become personal trainers, health club managers, marine sports instructors, and leisure and marine industry experts who can respond to changes in the social environment and related technologies. The Department is well resourced with a 660,000 m2 Marine Education Centre for training in powerboating and sailing, a multi-purpose swimming pool for water sports and lifesaving training, a marine technology training center, indoor simulator training facilities, a large gymnasium, additional specialized gymnasiums for various sports. It is also equipped with world class equipment and has a highly experienced faculty.
