Introduction

The Department of Dental Hygiene teaches and studies the theory and application of methods of dental hygiene that will contribute to the promotion of oral health by cultivating leaders in the fields of oral health promotion, education, research, and preventive dental treatment, dental care cooperators, and dental hospital management.

The Educational Goal

• To improve the oral health of people through professional knowledge and experience.

• To graduate dental hygienists with professional qualifications, responsibility, ethical awareness, leadership capability, professional awareness, and sense of duty.

• To train dental hygienists who can prevent oral disease and promote oral health.

• To provide opportunities to expand roles in oral health promotion and educational research, preventive dental practice, dental care cooperators, and dental hospital administration.

• To improve the oral health of the community for community health, vulnerable groups, and special groups.

• To graduate dental hygienists who can take responsibility for their unique role in dental hygiene in cooperation with other health professionals and with patients.

• To graduate dental hygienists with sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• To develop lifelong learners who maintain currency in the changing and developing specialized knowledge and skills in the field of dental hygiene.
