Department of Medical Engineering & Welfare Technology

The Medical Engineering & Welfare Technology program studies the rehabilitation and welfare of the physically weak, such as the disabled and the elderly. The demand for technology that discovers and safely maximizes the capabilities of the socially disadvantaged, such as the elderly and the disabled, is leading medical welfare engineering into developing an ‘Avant Garde’ industry. These new technologies will ultimately benefit all of society. Medical welfare engineering is a study combining convergent talents of those who are interested in the health care field and are also interested in technology.

The Educational Goal

  • To develop experts in the health technologies field such as prosthetic and orthotic technicians, assistive technology engineers, and medical engineers.
